New Music: TV.OUT — “Haven”

Tel-Aviv based dance duo TV.OUT–aka Ori Itshaki and Doron “Charly” Mastey–have dropped the full version of their track “Haven,” which was initially teased back in May. The cut comes from the Parallax group’s new EP, Sea Of Consciousness. The seven-minute slow burn shapes the A-side of the release, out now as a limited 10” on HotMix, the label helmed by Italian producer Nick Anthony Simoncino. It premiered over on Inverted Audio but you can listen right here:

Little animal sounds populate the background of this icy deep house banger. Any connections with “jungle” aside, the crystalline synths paired with the groove of the bongos lend themselves to a certain disassociation—notions of a tropical winter ring through the track. And as our collective consciousness seems more aware of looming environmental disaster, it’s easy to be drawn to the idea of a safe-haven amid chaos. The best escape still tends to be the dance floor—where a song like this keeps a heartbeat on what the individual can do for themselves.
